Biggest Challenge

One of the biggest challenges I think I’ll face on my journey to becoming a teacher is overcoming my shyness. I’ve always been pretty quiet, especially in big groups or when I have to speak in front of people. Teaching takes a lot of confidence and energy, and I know I’ll have to step out of my comfort zone to connect with my students. It’s not that I don’t love the idea of helping others learn, honestly, that’s what inspires me the most, but being able to show that excitement out loud in front of a class is something I’m still working on.

Even though being shy can make things harder, I’ve realized it also has its positives. I’m a good listener and empathetic, which helps me understand people and build real connections. I’m trying to find a balance between being quiet and being confident enough to lead a classroom. Whether it’s speaking up more in my college classes or practicing public speaking, I know each experience is helping me get better. My goal isn’t to change who I am, it’s to use my personality to create a classroom where students feel comfortable, supported, and motivated to learn.
